Europees Kinderboeken Netwerk
Op 4 december 2001 wordt een Europees netwerk in het leven geroepen van
beheerders van historische kinderboekencollecties. Dit gebeurt in
aansluiting op het CHILDE-project dat vorige maand werd afgesloten (zie
http://www.bookchilde.org/). Meer informatie over het beoogde netwerk
en een deelnameformulier vindt u in de hierna volgende tekst.

We are looking for partners!
- Do you have a historical children's book collection?
- Do wish you could do more with the collection?
- foster links with other collections?
- exchange expertise and information?
- increase your profile on the European scene?
Buckinghamshire County Library Service is hoping to establish a
European Network of historical children's book collections that will
build on the work undertaken by the European Commission funded CHILDE
project. The year long CHILDE initiative, which culminated in October
2001, entails the creation of a web site dedicated to historical
children's book collections across Europe http://www.bookchilde.org/
The CHILDE project involved partners from:
- Buckinghamshire County Library Service, UK
- Dublin City Public Libraries, Ireland
- Institut fur Jugendbuchforschung, Frankfurt, Germany
- International Youth Library, Munich, Germany
- Koninklijke Bibliotheek, The Hague, The Netherlands
- La Baracca: Testoni Ragazzi, Bologna, Italy
- Wandsworth Borough Council, London, UK
An opportunity now exists to establish this European Network for
organisations and individuals who own, or manage, historical children's
book collections. The Network could enable:
- The development and expansion of the CHILDE web site
- Publicity and promotion for partner collections
- A programme of staff exchanges between partner organisations
- A publication programme
- Transnational conferences and international networking
opportunities
- A programme for sharing best practice between partner organisations
- A regular newsletter
Would you like to be involved in this unique venture?
