Jubileumcatalogus 100 van Antiquariaat Forum over het kinderboek door
de eeuwen heen heeft de kroon op het werk gekregen in deel 11 met een
bibliografie en uitvoerige indices op de voorgaande 10 delen én
met een inleiding door P.J. Buijnsters waarin hij het project van Bas
Hesselink evalueert. Door de catalogus van Forum af te zetten tegen de
uit 1930 daterende antiquariaatscatalogus van Kirkor Gumuchian over
'Les livres de l'enfence du XVe au XIXe siècle' laat Buijnsters
zien dat het grote verschil zit in de cultuurhistorische context
waarbinnen de boeken - die lang niet altijd binnen de strikte
begrenzing van het genre vallen, zoals Hesselink in de epiloog ook grif
toegeeft - in de Forum-catalogus beschreven worden. Hesselink heeft met
deze monumentale elfdelige catalogus met in totaal 1590 pagina's in
ieder geval het kinderboek uit de Nederlanden internationaal op de
antiquarische kaart gezet.
Deel 11 bevat na de inleiding van Buijnsters een bibliografie van
naslagwerken waarnaar in de catalogus verwezen wordt (p. 1445-1474),
een index op Nederlandse uitgevers en drukkers, alfabetisch op
plaatsnaam (p. 1475-1491), een index op buitenlandse uitgevers en
drukkers (p. 1492-1506), een index op auteurs, editeurs, vertalers en
componisten (p. 1507-1535), een index op anonieme titels (p.
1537-1572), een index op kunstenaars, ontwerpers en tekenaars (p.
1573-1585) en een index op een aantal trefwoorden (Books before 1600;
Catchpenny prints; Games; Manuscripts & drawings; Miniature books;
Model school books Tot Nut van 't Algemeen; Movable plates; School
prize books; Special bindings; Binders).
